ARTIST BIO / COMMISSIONS / IMAGE RIGHTS

ARTIST BIO: Carlotta Brandenburg is a Southern Arizona artist working in acrylics and mixed media. Her work reflects a lifelong love of animals and vintage architecture in vivid, vibrant colors. In 2020, as with most of America, the pandemic led her to pick up a paint brush. Working in watercolor, then later with acrylics, there came a new love of creating animal and wildlife portraits. Her custom pet portraits have been commissioned in the US as well as Russia, and a subset of them have helped raise money for animal rescue groups.

Her art journey includes time spent working with gourds, depicting nature with carvings and burnings, which resulted in her appearance as one of many wonderful artists featured in the 2002 Jim Widess book on Gourd Pyrography. In 2010, she discovered the love of textile arts, and has since won awards and recognition in the realm of art quilting. She has designed original patterns, and taught art quilting classes in California and Montana shops.
